RS Christmas Dinner & Devotional

We had a fabulous time at our Relief Society Christmas Dinner and Devotional. We missed all of you who could not be there with us. A big "thank you" to Esther and Erica who opened their homes for us to have such a wonderful evening. Enjoy some pictures that I took that evening.

Cheryl Wood talked to us about Christmas Traditions and the importance of Christmas

Cheryl made these ornaments for each of us who attended. They represent the new Whitehouse Ward that was created this year and urges each of us to start our own Christmas ornament tradition this year and add a new ornament each year that represents something that occurred that year. If you have children, buy them a new ornament each year for them to have as a keepsake for when they get older.

Erica Hyland ends the evening with her own Christmas story and talked about President Uchtdorf's talk on the "Forget Me Not" flower. She made each of us our own candle to burn and for us to think of his talk and the great message that he has for each of us.

Super Saturday was a SUCCESS!

Many many thanks to Erica Hyland for a wonderful and fun Super Saturday. We had a lot of you show up and a few who we missed! The things that we made are fabulous and the ones that aren't quite finished will be too! A lot of hard work and time goes in to putting together a Super Saturday event and we want to thank Erica for all that she did. We hope that you all had a great time and were able to visit and get to know each other better. Enjoy a few pictures that were taken today. Sorry I didn't get more. I was too busy trying to get some of my projects completed!

Daughters in My Kingdom

Most of you received your copy of this new book today at church. If you did not, the Relief Society Presidency has a copy for you. The following is what the church as said.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Relief Society sisters have a glorious heritage. We pray that this volume will be an important resource for preserving that heritage.

~ The First Presidency

In grateful recognition of the blessing of Relief Society in the lives of Church members, the First Presidency has directed the preparation of Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society.

The teachings, stories, and examples in this history book will guide you in establishing priorities and practices in your life that will help increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and seek out and help those in need.

painting

The history of Relief Society teaches the divine identity and infinite worth of daughters of God. It is a Spirit-filled story of strong, faithful, purposeful women who have served with little public recognition.

As you study this history you will see that our Heavenly Father knows His daughters, that He loves them, that He trusts them with sacred responsibilities, and that He guides them as they fulfill those responsibilities.

You are encouraged to share the book with others. Church members of all ages may use the book as a reference in lessons, talks, council meetings, and at home.
